Dephosphorization and Denitrification Process
Seshin Clean’s dephosphorization and denitrification is a one-step higher level process that minimizes operating costs by reducing electricity costs and carbon sources as this process generates ANAMOX and SURAMOX reactions along with the existing nitrification and denitrification simultaneously.

Reaction mechanism

Ammonification

  • Process in which microorganisms ammonify organic nitrogen while most of the organic matter contained in the nitrogen exists in a reduced amino form.
  • CHONS → CO2 + H2O + NH3 + cellular multiplication

Nitrification

  • This is the process of nitrifying ammonia or ammonium ion with nitrous bacteria and nitrate bacteria by using carbon dioxide gas, carbonate, and bicarbonate as carbon sources in a state without organic matter.
  • • 2NH4 + 3O2 + HCO2- → 2NO2 +2H2O +4H= +Cell
  • • NO2 + O2 + HCO3- → 2NO2 + 2H2O + 4H+ + Cell
  • • General: NH4+ +2O2 → NO2- + H2O + 2H+

Denitrification

  • Denitrifying bacteria is arbitrary and anaerobic, and respires when O2 exists or in anoxic conditions using O in or NO2 or NO3.
  • • 2NO3- + 10H+ + CH3OH → N2 + 4H2O + 2OH- + Cell
  • • 2NO2- + 6H+ + CH3OH → N2 + 2H2O + 2OH- + Cell

Combined Denitrification

Combined Denitrification
ANAMOX SURAMOX
• NH4+ + 3/2NO3- → 1/2N2 + 3/2NO2- + H+ +3/2H2O
• NH4+ + 3/5NO3- → 4/5N2 + 2/5H+ + 9.5H2O
• NH4+ + 6/5NO3- → NO2- + 3/5N2 + 4/5H+ + 8/5H2O
• NH4+ + NO2- → N2 + 2H2O
• NO3- + 5/3SO + 1/3H2O → 1/2N2 + 5/6(SO+)2- + 2/3H+
• NO2- + 1/2SO → 1/2N2 + 5/6(SO+)2-
• NO3- + 5/8HS- + 3/8H+ → 1/2N2 + 5/8(SO+)2- + 1/2H2O
• NO2- + 3/8HS- + 5/8H+ → 1/2N2 + 3/8(SO+)2- + 1/2H2O
• NO3- + 5HS- + 6H+ → 1/2N2 + 5SO + 3H2O
• NO2- + 3HS- + 4H+ → 1/2N2 + 3SO + 2H2O

Characteristics

  • • Outstanding nitrification thanks to highly concentrated nitrifying microorganisms in an HBC tank
  • • Minimizes the quantity of methane use.
  • • Improved treatment performance of the HBC tank thanks to the removal of BOD and COD in the pre-denitrification tank.
